Calling all night owls!

The Berkeley Square Hotel are looking for a Night Porter to join their team on a part time basis. This role will see you looking after the hotel overnight from 10pm until 7am the following morning. Perfect for night owls who also love customer service! You will look after both Berkeley Square and Berkeley Suites in this position.You will be working an alternating pattern of 27 hours one week (Fri, Sat, Sun) and 36 hours the next (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun) - overtime is available to cover holiday in addition to this.​

Key information for the Night Porter role:

Hours:  You will be working an alternating pattern of 27 hours one week (Fri, Sat, Sun) and 36 hours the next (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun) - overtime is available to cover holiday in addition to this.

Salary: £12.60 per hour for Thursday night, £13.20 per hour for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and £15 per hour cover rate (for any hours worked above contracted hours on a rolling 3 week basis).

A typical week!  Night Porter shifts start at 10:00pm, and finish at 7:00am. Based at the ​​The Berkeley Square and Berkeley Suites, in this particular position you will be consistently working Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, but will also work every other Thursday.

About our ideal Night Porter:

We are looking for a friendly and personable individual with a can-do attitude and customer service experience who can remain calm under pressure and can provide our guests with the 'home from home' welcoming service that we are known for, as well as providing a sense of security for guests overnight. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility and the ability to react at late notice would be helpful. You will also need to have a good understanding of English.

What you’ll be doing as Night Porter:

Reporting to the Hotel Assistant Manager and Hotel Manager, our Night Porter will be involved in the following:

• Security of the hotel overnight
• Providing a first point of contact for our guests - responding to any needs they may have
• Checking in and out guests
• Taking payments from our guests and looking after all cash over your shift
• Selling rooms
• Problem solving - knowing when to escalate to management and how to communicate solutions to guests effectively.

This position will involve working on your own, so you will need good time management and the ability to make decisions.
