We’re on the hunt for a passionate, talented Junior Sous Chef to join our tight-knit brigade at The Square – a fine dining restaurant and top-tier events venue at the heart of Bristol’s vibrant Clifton scene.

As our new Junior Sous Chef, you’ll work alongside a team of six chefs and three KPs, producing bold, seasonal, modern British/European dishes in a kitchen that’s all about craft, creativity, and camaraderie. From à la carte to weddings, private dining to member events, your day-to-day will be varied, rewarding, and full of flavour.

What you’ll be doing as Junior Sous Chef:

• Supporting the Head Chef and working with the team to ensure a smooth service
• Supervising and mentoring junior chefs during service
• Ensuring smooth, high-quality output during busy services and private events
• Helping develop menus that celebrate seasonality and showcase your ideas
• Playing a hands-on role in training and developing the team

What you bring:

• Solid experience in fresh food, high-quality kitchens (fine dining or events is a bonus)
• A taste of leadership skills from previous employment, and a keenness to build those skills with us as Junior Sous Chef
• An ability to build trust and play your part in lifting team performance
• A calm, positive approach – even when the pass is on fire
• Ambition, a sense of humour, and a genuine love for food

This role is perfect for an existing Junior Sous ready to get stuck into a new challenge, or a strong CDP or Senior CDP looking for the next step up in their career. We're looking for someone who is keen to join a forward-thinking kitchen where quality and creativity are the name of the game.
