Spring is here, and at The Square we’re making the most of the longer days and warmer temperatures. Our leafy Terrace is open, and the perfect spot to take advantage of our express lunch menu during a day out in town. (As a restaurant in Clifton we’re wonderfully placed between Park Street and Brandon Hill Park.) Meanwhile our chefs have created a fresh a la carte menu for spring, featuring premium local and seasonal produce. We’re now serving Wraxall lamb two ways, Wiltshire-bred pork belly and grilled Cornish skate (a personal favourite!) to name a few. And our new chicken mousse starter, pictured below, is already very popular amongst our diners.
We also have a jam-packed new events programme out for spring. Many of our team will be bringing a taste of The Square to the HowTheLightGetsIn festival at Hay on Wye this May/June (keep an eye out for our champagne bar) – but here in Bristol, we’re excited to welcome both newcomers and firm favourites back to our Lounge and Lower Deck Cocktail Bar.
Our upcoming live events include –
24/4/16 - Velvet Sunday with the Holly Wellington Trio.
Holly is the lead singer of upcoming Bristol band Feelgood Experiment, and will be playing a special jazz session in our lounge whilst our delicious Sunday roast is served. Booking essential for dining!
26/4/16 – The Berkeley Square Poetry Revue
Each month, we welcome the region’s wordsmiths to perform in our quirky cocktail bar. This month, we have superb poetry lined up from Diana Taylor, Martin Rieser, Chaucer Cameron and Helen Dewbury – with music provided by Anna Kissel.
27/4/16 – James Morton Soul Jazz Club
Our resident saxophonist James Morton is back, playing upfront dancefloor jazz, funk and soul, with his guest musicians from the jazz scene. James is not just a well-loved Bristolian jazz musician – aged just 16 he performed on the Jazz World Stage, and has played with artists such as Pee Wee Ellis, the Herbaliser, and Pendulum. You can be sure you’re in for an evening of fantastic music – and we also have 2-for-1 cocktails before 9pm.

We hope to see you at The Square this spring!
