Quarter strives to make our business operations as sustainable as possible and we’re making changes that will lead to a more sustainable future. We’re aware of how important these steps are to ensure a successful future for our business, our team and customers.
Culture & Planning
We have a green committee that meet weekly to press forward with green initiatives that will reduce our carbon footprint. This committee aims to bring awareness to both staff and guests by encouraging green practices and training staff in energy saving habits whilst pressing forward with new ideas to reduce our energy consumption.
Energy Efficiency
We have introduced a number of energy saving techniques into our businesses including installation of LED lightbulbs, secondary glazing and solar energy. We closely monitor our energy consumption and target reduced consumption across all our units.
Using Water Wisely
Alongside saving on energy, we care about water usage too. We ask all our guests to consider if they need their laundry and towels changing as washing laundry is a very water intensive process.
Waste Management
We encourage our guests and staff to recycle correctly with appropriate signage and facilities and use recycled materials wherever possible to further reduce waste.
Social Involvement
As a group we are actively involved within the local community. Every year we support a ‘Charity of the year’ and run fundraising events throughout the year in aid of its cause.
Happy & Healthy
We aim to keep staff happy and healthy by running regular social events, a feedback and reviews system that allows team members to give feedback, as well as a separate well-being policy which outlines what steps we take to encourage the wellbeing of our staff.
Sustainable Sourcing
Throughout our properties we try to use only the finest, locally sourced products and ingredients. As an independent company we ourselves, like to keep things local.
Travel & Transport
We have adopted our own Cycle to Work scheme and bus discounts, encouraging all staff to travel to work sustainably. We advise guests to travel sustainably too and provide bike racks around the group. More detail of this can be found in our Travel Policy.
