Gender Pay Gap Report 2025
Quarter is a community of hospitality businesses in Bristol that collectively employ more than 250 employees. We are committed to ensuring equal pay between women and men for equal work, and equality in all contractual terms and benefits.
The below information is based on our snapshot date of 5th April 2025.
1. Hourly Pay
Our median pay gap is 0.9% in 2025. In statistical terms, this is effectively zero, demonstrating that the "typical" female employee at Quarter earns the same hourly rate as the "typical" male employee. However, we do note that the mean figure shows a 4.3% differential towards women.
2. Pay Quartiles
In line with what is typical for the hospitality industry, women comprise approximately 62% of our total workforce. In respect of the highest pay quartile, 63% of the roles are held by women and 37% by men. This reflects the split between male and female employees in Quarter’s workforce. Furthermore, our data shows a consistent gender split across all pay quartiles.
3. Bonus Pay
Our median bonus pay gap is 40.79%. The reason for this is that our kitchen teams are predominantly male and our housekeeping teams are predominantly female – this is in line with industry norms. These two teams have very different pay structures, with bonus pay making up a much smaller proportion of the housekeeping team member’s package. When these outliers were removed from our data, our adjusted median bonus gap is reduced to 14.24%. We note that this is in the opposite direction to the assessment of the gap on mean base salaries.
4. Declaration
I can confirm our data is accurate and has been calculated according to the requirements and methodology set out in the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017.
