Racks Bar & Kitchen are looking for a confident, skilled and fun Chef to join the team on a temporary, part-time basis (27 hours per week over 3 daytime shifts, rota-based). This position can be offered at either Commis Chef or Chef de Partie level, depending on applicant preference / experience.
Located on St Paul's Road in Clifton (BS8), Racks Bar & Kitchen has a reputation for a friendly, fun atmosphere, and fantastic seasonal food (always from fresh, locally sourced ingredients)! This is a hugely popular venue - welcoming many group Christmas dining bookings and parties at this time of year. Racks has a large, cosy and vibrant indoor space as well as a stunning outdoor terrace - at this time of year the terrace is covered with a large pop-up ski lodge for the festive season!
This position will offer 24 hours per week, usually worked over 3x 8-hour shifts, typically falling over daytimes (either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm). The contract will end by 15th December, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the festivities over Christmas.
Hours: Part time - 24 hours per week on a rota basis, typically working daytimes from 8am-4pm or from 9am-5pm.
Contract type: Fixed term, from 2nd December 2024 until 15th December 2024
Pay: At Chef de Partie level, the hourly rate will be £12.30 per hour. At Commis Chef level, the hourly rate will be £11.60 per hour. In addition, you will receive your share of service charge.
A typical week: As temporary Chef at Racks Bar & Kitchen you will be part of a close team who work hard to get the job done but have fun at the same time! You will be preparing and cooking high-quality food from fresh ingredients, mostly catering to our Christmas group dining bookings
You’re friendly, confident and a great team player. You love to cook and are passionate about providing our customers with excellent food. You are able to work at pace, maintain high standards in all aspects of your role, and are keen to learn and progress!
Ideally, you’ll have some experience within a similar busy kitchen but this is not a requirement - it's more important that you have great skills, a passion for food and the right attitude!
