HowTheLightGetsIn, the world's largest philosophy and music festival, is going Global and Online.
Feed your minds, bodies and souls with stimulating debate, long-table banquets and a Wellbeing Weekend to help you recover from the late-night musical mayhem. With your intellectual appetite well-fed, Quarter will take care of the food, make sure the drinks are flowing and accomodate you with somewhere to rest your head.
Over the weekend 19-20 September, there will be more than 200 events live-streamed from eight stages, with a line up of the world’s leading thinkers, the hottest bands and stand-up comedy acts, plus cabaret, interactive workshops, and everything else you’d expect at a “real world” festival – without the need to travel anywhere!
In addition, there will be a whole host of social spaces where you can chat to your friends and make new friends too, talk over the events you’ve seen, bump into speakers and artists, listen to some great music together – and dance the night away with some very energetic DJs.
Live events will be streamed not only from London but also Delhi and New York, giving the festival global reach with the added benefit that whatever continent you call home, you will be able to join the festival and take part in a time zone close to your own.
Speakers announced so far include Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, director of the Tate Modern, Frances Morris, famed environment activist Vandana Shiva, and political journalist Grace Blakeley to name just a handful. Check out the full programme so far at howthelightgetsin.org/global. More exciting speakers, debates, and performers are being revealed every week!
