For 2016, Quarter has joined forces with St Peter's Hospice, a Bristol based charity who are working hard to provide free of charge care to patients with complicated needs toward the end of life and also offer support to family and friends.
So far the team at Quarter have raised money through selling delicious baked goods on our reception desks, a Scavenger hunt around Bristol that was all kindly arranged by James from Bristol Free Walking Tours and lots of fun with silly games in our bars and restaurants involving giant jars of sweets and a floating lemon with a dislike for 20p pieces.
In June we took part in a mini TRY-athlon which saw three Quarter teams taking on other Bristol businesses in a battle for the fastest time and in May four brave girls took part in the Bristol 10k. So far we have managed to raise a brilliant £600.
Now that the nights are drawing in, we are looking to our next lots of fund-raising activities to be a little more indoor based! Jack, the Operations Manager at the Clifton Hotel, is putting together a pub quiz in November, we have plans for more baking challenges (now that we are all mourning the loss of The Great British Bake Off), we will be organising a Christmas raffle for our guests to take part in in December and I'm sure there will be lots of silliness in between!
We are also looking for ways to provide a steady stream of revenue for our chosen charity, through selling items to our guests on a non profit basis, and having these incentives available all year round.
