Just Our Cup Of Tea

Posted on 16th June 2017

From builders, to an exotic herbal tea, Brits are famous for their love of a good brew!  It is cliché to imagine everyone sitting around drinking tea, but often this is not far from the truth when you look around Bristol’s tea hot spots! There are some quality tea producers and businesses in Bristol  that deserve recognition for keeping us topped up with teas of every kind to suit your needs.

Bristol Tea Company

The Bristol Tea Company is a home-grown company based in Easton. They provide people all over the country with various fair-trade teas sourced from India and Sri Lanka by farmers who they have met. This is because they value the support that farmers need having been farmers in Bristol themselves!

White Tea - Recommended as an evening tea, the rare tea that the Bristol Tea Company sell is a fresh tea that is considered to have remedy qualities as it is jam packed with anti-oxidants! It has ‘a wonderfully fresh aroma with the slightest sweetness’ perfect for a summers evening lounging and relaxing!

Tea House of Emporium, Bath

The Tea House Emporium has both a shop and the ability to buy wholesale any of their specially selected teas. They offer loads of information on what goes into tea and the nuances between how the different blends are actually created! It’s a very interesting read, something to ponder over while drinking some!

Pu- Ehr Tea - This is an exclusive Chinese tea that is new to the British market in terms of their tea trading. What is seen as a new ‘fad’ actually has some proven properties for weight loss! The most expensive can be sold for thousands of pounds- it must be a pretty expensive tea!

Bluebird Tea Company

The Bluebird Tea Company offer over 70 tea blends- you often see there staff offering free tasters as you walk up Park Street! They have a new summer collection with products for the avid reviser! The exam trio is a favourite among students; it consists of a relaxing tea, a caffeine tea (for those all- nighters!) as well as a focus tea- aptly named ‘Hocus Focus’! The Bluebird Tea Company is certainly worth a visit.

 caffe clifton golden ticket

Our very own Caffe Clifton, serves a fantastic selection of teas including several from local Bristol suppliers, Attic Teas, who offer teas for focus, brain boosting, sleeping, digestion and the most popular for the regulars the ‘reviving tea’. The Reviving tea is a white tea infused with vanilla, berries and lemon balm- a cornucopia for the taste buds!

Needless to say tea is part of everyday life….

‘But indeed I would rather have nothing but tea.”
