At Quarter we endeavor to manage our business in a way that makes a positive impact on society and the environment and it is important to us that we make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate.
We are therefore pleased to announce a new alliance with ‘Urban Pursuit’ for 2017.
Urban Pursuit is a Community Interest Company – founded in 2011 by Neil and Karen Dennison. This excellent Bristol charity works with young adults struggling in education - on the edge of suspension or exclusion - and hopes to help them re-engage with education in a positive way through extreme sports and mentoring programmes.
They have worked with over 300 students across 14 different schools and academies since their formal launch in January 2013.
They typically see students for one day a week as an alternative to their normal, in-school, education. Students are highly engaged with the programs and they are seeing outstanding attendance and high levels of motivation amongst the young people. There is real impact in schools with many students demonstrating improved behaviour, better relationships with adults and improved attitudes towards learning.
We are fundraising though a variety of fun activities that our teams and guests can get involved in, from bake sales to sporting events and raffles.
We are also looking for ways to provide a steady stream of revenue for our chosen charity, through selling items to our guests on a non profit basis, and having these incentives available all year round.
