Quarter is looking for a hands on and practical multi-skilled Maintenance Operative / Property Development Team Member to join our large, friendly in-house property development and maintenance team on a permanent basis.
For insurance reasons, you must hold valid driving license (with no more than 3 points) and be over 21 to be considered for this position (you will have use of our shared company vans with paid fuel in this role, and will not be required to use your own vehicle).
As a Maintenance Operative within our property development team, you will be working within a team responsible for the reactive and proactive maintenance for our portfolio of properties - we currently have luxury suites, four boutique hotels, four restaurants, co-working office spaces and numerous short-term rental properties all based in Clifton. Most of our properties are Grade 2 listed - which adds another level of skill to this role! As you become more confident with our buildings, you will also be involved in some project work, from refurbishments on our existing venues and properties to transforming newly acquired buildings into exciting new ventures as the company grows.
Our maintenance and property development team is expanding, as such there are two available positions. In one of these roles we are looking, ideally, for someone with some carpentry experience. In the other, some plumbing experience would be ideal.
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri from 9-5 with occasional days each week on call (by rotation)
Salary: Salary package of £26,000 per annum including an average figure of £2,000 for annual 'call outs' - this figure could be exceeded.
Holiday: 28 days paid holiday per annum including Bank Holidays - when not on call, Bank Holidays are usually not worked.
Uniform and PPE is provided
Company perks:
You’re friendly, outgoing and a hard worker. You are handy and ideally have a sound basic knowledge of general maintenance, plumbing and electrics. You will, ideally either have a particular flair and skillset in carpentry OR plumbing (no need to be an expert at both, as there are two available positions - one with a plumbing bias and one with a carpentry bias). You have great attention to detail and a desire to learn, improve and succeed. You are able to work both in a team and unsupervised, and are able to think on your feet! You observe health and safety rules closely.
To apply for this role, please send your CV and covering letter via the apply now link. The closing date for applications is Friday 19th January 2024.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email first to confirm a time for a first round telephone interview. The interview process will involve a first round telephone interview with a member of the HR team and candidates will then be invited for an interview with Hotels & Development Director via Zoom. The final stage will be for selected candidates to attend a short trial and meeting (approx. 1-1.5 hours) with the maintenance and property development team. The trial will include a small practical task and the chance to meet current team members.
