Quarter is looking for a friendly, sales driven and customer-focused Assistant Manager to join the team at The Rodney Hotel.

Regularly flitting between 4th and 5th place on Tripadvisor, beating the big chains right to the top of the rankings, the Rodney has everything going for it. As Assistant Manager, you would be joining the management team of a high-performing, popular and elegant boutique hotel. If you're interested in joining the management team for this small but mighty hotel, then read on! 

This is a great opportunity for someone who has had some experience working in hotels - perhaps as a head receptionist or Reception/front desk supervisor (or an existing Assistant Manager!). You will be responsible the line management of the reception and night porter teams - ensuring that they are happy, performing well and getting the training and development they need!

Key information for the Hotel Assistant Manager position:

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week) working to a rota that will include evening and weekend work.

Salary: A package of up to £30,750 per annum including on-target bonus earnings. This comprises a basic salary of £27,250 per annum plus a guaranteed loyalty bonus of £500 per annum, with £3,000 of discretionary performance based bonus.

A typical week will see you doing a mixture of early (7am – 3pm) shifts or late shifts (2pm – 10pm) or day shifts (9 - 5pm). Rotas are done, by you, for 3 week blocks to give as much notice to you as possible of your shifts.

About our ideal Hotel Assistant Manager:

You are friendly, confident and passionate about providing fantastic customer service to our guests. You will, ideally, have experience working in a hotel reception before and may be familiar with using a hotel PMS (we use Opera, but experience with other systems is absolutely fine as training will be offered).

Most importantly, however, you will be a natural leader - able to get your team on side and performing well at all times!

You'll have a business mind and will use it to ensure your team are focussed on the right objectives to ensure success. Above all, you'll be an adaptable, team player - hotel management is different every day - you will thrive in this kind of environment!

What you’ll be doing as Hotel Assistant Manager:

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will be involved in:

  • Delivering excellent customer service for our guests – no day is the same!
  • Ensuring systems on reception are running well and being followed by the team
  • Handling guest enquiries and helping our guests have the best stay possible
  • Holding 1-2-1 meetings with your reception and night porter team to ensure their continued development.
  • Duty management for our 4 hotels on a weekend rotation of approximately 1 in 12 weekends.
  • Admin duties for example, making rotas, filling in results on the company server etc.

This role offers excellent progression into other management roles within the wider Quarter company.
