Quarter is looking for an early bird Breakfast Chef to join our team at the Square on a full-time basis (part-option also possible!). This role offers 40 hours per week, usually worked over 5 morning into daytime shifts on a rota basis, leaving the rest of your day free! Also available at 30 hours per week (also over 5 days) for those who prefer part time.
This role would suit someone who has good cooking skills capable of producing high quality breakfast dishes, cooked to order (we all know how important a good breakfast is to start the day!)! Experience cooking with fresh ingredients in a professional kitchen is preferable.
If you’re an early bird looking to have evenings free for other commitment, this may be the role for you!
You will get in and start preparing and cooking for the breakfast service - this could be cooking off sausages, mushrooms, bacon, hash browns and keeping them hot in preparation for the orders you will get. Breakfast service starts at 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends so you have an hour to 'prep' before guests start coming in. Eggs are prepared to order and all food is plated by you in the kitchen (no chafing dishes).
The friendly breakfast front of house team will take orders and deliver food and the Kitchen porter will wash up plates, pots and pans, so it is just the cooking that you would need to concentrate on.
Once breakfast service has finished, you'll be involved in lunch service, or cooking for our range of events that we hold at the Square. The food style is fine dining, seasonal food, as such we are looking for a certain level of skill with fresh ingredients and high-quality food, ideally at Chef de Partie level.
You'll need to be reliable as you will be opening the kitchen in the morning and will be the first person in. You may be someone who likes routine and is happy starting early and finishing early - enabling you to focus on non-work activities for the rest of the day!
You'll also need to be confident and keep a cool head when things get busy. We do many cooked breakfasts on a daily basis so you'll need to be able to work methodically to ensure each dish goes out perfectly!
To apply, please send your CV via the 'apply now' link. The closing date for applications is Friday 29th November.
Successful applicants will be contacted by a member of the HR team initially to arrange a phone interview. If successful at that stage, you will be invited for a short trial in the kitchen for you to see how it all operates and for us to check your overall skill level.
We reserve the right to close this role before the given deadline in the event a suitable candidate is found.
