We put you at the centre of Bristol life.
We love Bristol and hope you do too. As a Bristol based company we believe in keeping hospitality local and our suppliers, as much as possible, are based in the local area.
Charity of the Year - Our Fundraising Efforts
Each year, Quarter staff choose which charity to support through a voting system, where the only criteria is that the charity is based in Bristol or the South West. This year, we are proud to support Jessie May, a local charity supporting children and young people with life-limiting and life threatening conditions by providing the very best quality of life possible via at-home hospice care.
Jessie May's vision is to provide the very best care and support possible, at home, for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their whole families – for the whole journey in life, at the end of life, and in bereavement. Through various fundraising activities including charity walks, cycling challenges and pub quizzes among others, here at Quarter we aim to do everything we can to maximise this partnership and give back to a charity that has given so much.
Here at Quarter, we are no strangers to the local scene having been proudly Bristol-based since opening our first B&B over 60 years ago. Since then, we have blossomed into an independent group of boutique hotels, restaurants, bespoke working spaces and an exciting programme of private and corporate events, with even more plans to expand in the near future. In short, we are committed to Bristol, providing the best hospitality to residents and visitors while supporting the community with our charitable efforts.

Our commitment to being green!
In 2015 Bristol was Awarded European Green Capital of the Year. We’ve joined other Bristolian organisations and businesses and started making changes for a more sustainable future. We’re aware of its importance and want to make a difference for generations to come. We’ve worked alongside a number of award winning companies including GDS, Solarsense and Greenwoods Furniture that were all nominated for awards at last years Bristol Post Green Capital Awards.
Education
We believe that it starts here. Our very own green committee lead the way in reducing our carbon footprint. We aim to bring awareness to both staff and guests by encouraging green practices and training staff in energy saving habits.
Energy Efficiency
We have introduced a number of energy saving techniques into our business including our most recent installation of LED lighting. A complete LED changeover can reduce energy consumption by almost 90%. We have almost completed installing LED lights throughout all of our properties: significantly reducing our energy consumption in the process.
We closely monitor our energy consumption through the use of smart meters. Not only does this allow us to manage our energy usage better but it also reduces the carbon emissions that we would otherwise need for utility services.
Using water wisely
Solarsense have installed a solar thermal system for the luxury Berkeley Suites. The system consists of 60 Apricus evacuated tubes which heat water for all five suites. As well as reducing the hotels’ energy usage and bills, the system also generates a modest income from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) which can be spent further improving the sustainability credentials of the hotel group.
Alongside saving on energy, we care about water usage too. Bearing this in mind we have begun to install cistern water saving devices which save between 1 and 3 litres of water every time you flush!
Waste management
We encourage our guests and staff to recycle correctly with appropriate signage and facilities and use recycled paper wherever possible to further reduce waste.
Social Involvement
As a group we are actively involved within the local community. We look to support local and independent commerce and there are a number of initiatives in which we are part of. These include Go Green & Tapwater.org
Happy & Healthy
Outside of the workplace we aim to keep staff happy and healthy playing sport in local leagues, entering team triathlons and running regular social events.
Sustainable Sourcing
Throughout our properties we try to use only the finest, locally sourced products and ingredients. As an independent company we like to keep things local.
Travel & Transport
We have adopted our very own cycle to work scheme, encouraging all staff to travel to work sustainably. We advise guests to travel sustainably too, provide bike racks around the group and help keep our city clean!
Planning & Resilience
Our green commitments don’t stop here. In the future we aim to continue our work, looking for new ways to go green.
