We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Quarter Short Lets. We have two positions available, that may suit a range of jobseekers - one option will offer 25 hours per week (guaranteed on your contract), spread over 3-4 shifts per week. The second option may suit those looking for some ad-hoc, casual shifts, as it will offer a 0-hours, casual contract. Do let us know know which option you prefer in your application!

Based out of our head office in Clifton, Quarter Short Lets is the property management division of Quarter, with a fantastic team and great office culture! Quarter Short Lets is comprised of two brands: Clifton Short Lets and Host360. The Clifton Short Lets department runs short-term letting in our shared houses in Clifton, and Host360 manages Airbnb properties throughout Bristol.

You don't necessarily need to be a driver for this position - the team have transport options for non-drivers to get around our properties for cleaning. However, any applicants who do drive would either receive a mileage payment towards their petrol costs, or would be able to drive out electric Renault Kangoo van when required. Travel time between properties is paid, and the company also reimburses any paid parking near our properties. Snacks and refreshments are also provided to keep you going through the day.

Key information for these Housekeeping Supervisor positions:

• Option 1: 25 hours per week, usually worked over 3-4 shifts
• ​Option 2: 0-hours, casual contract. Hours will be offered on an ad-hoc basis, on average this could equate to around 3-6 hours across the month, but this can vary
• £13.25 per hour, plus performance-related bonuses
• This is a rota-based role, with shifts falling on weekends and weekdays 
• ​You will be working up to 8 hours per shift (shifts may be shorter for the casual hours option): shifts will start between 8am-10am, finishing by around 4pm as per the rota
• ​This position will involve a combination of day-to-day cleaning and extra duties such as fire alarm and emergency lighting checks, linen management and team guidance and support

​Main responsibilities of our Housekeeping Supervisor:

• ​Supervising the housekeeping team under the supervision of and in the absence of the Housekeeping Operations Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Operations Manager
• Training new members of staff to a high standard
• ​Ensuring that important health and safety checks (including emergency lighting and fire alarm tests in our properties) are performed and recorded to the required standards
• ​Management of laundry stock, including packing and unpacking laundry bags at head office ready to go out to our properties
• ​Cleaning a range of short-let and Airbnb properties
• ​Replenishing stock as needed

​Your base in this role will be our friendly head office building in Clifton - this is where the linens, cleaning products and other equipment are kept (as well as a supply of healthy snacks and water to keep the team sustained!).

What are we looking for in these roles?

• ​Team management skills – you will be able to guide more junior members of the team successfully and will know when to escalate issues to either the housekeeping management team or the unit management team
• ​Team player – you’ll have a ‘muck in’ attitude and will be proactive in sorting issues that you come across and that fall within your remit
• ​Attention to detail – you’ll demonstrate excellent cleaning skills yourself and will be able to spot areas of weakness in other team members and address as appropriate
• ​Proactive and Adaptable – you’ll be able to anticipate issues that may arise and will proactively plan to avoid them occurring!
• ​Communication – you will have excellent verbal communication in English and good written communication
• IT skills – you’ll be competent at using computers including Microsoft products, email and Google Docs
