This role would suit someone who enjoys cooking but who needs to gain more experience in a kitchen environment. The blend of Breakfast Chef / Kitchen Assistant will mean you do a couple of mornings a week washing up (supporting the chef when needed) and then 2/3 mornings a week working with the Breakfast Chef learning the ropes.
This role could further be combined with other hotel positions (room attendant) to make a more full time position if desired.
Depending on what shift you are on you will be either doing some Kitchen Assistant work - washing up, unpacking deliveries and generally keeping our kitchen tidy, or you'll be working as a breakfast chef and will be working with our existing breakfast chefs to produce a range of breakfast items for our guests.
What skills to you need to be successful in this role?
You'll need to be reliable as you will be opening the kitchen in the morning. You may be someone who likes routine and is happy starting early and finishing early - enabling you to focus on non-work activities for the rest of the day!
You'll also need to be confident and keep a cool head when things get busy. We do anything from 20 - 50 cooked breakfasts on a daily basis so you'll need to be able to work methodically to ensure each dish goes out perfectly!
